 | In Coqui Calderon's pictorial evolution, the fruit series - such as "Guayaba"(I) and the "Manzanas" (II) study - present geometrically created landscapes with realistically elaborated fruits superimposed on and united with the composition by means of repeated diagonal brush strokes of contrasting colors. Thanks to the movement of lines and forms, harmony is achieved between the stylized landscape of "Guayaba" or the abstract background of "Manzanas"and the central motif of realistic fruits. The compositions are enriched by the contrasting hues of blues and greens, now in warm tones as in Guayaba, now in intense tones as in "Manzanas", emphasizing and enhancing the fruits as the center of interest.

In the pastel "Sin TÌtulo" (III), one notes the use of identical brush strokes in contrasting colors in the same movement of diagonal lines and color volumes, although, through a series of circular movements, the center of interest is transformed into a human figure whose grief is conceptually analyzed and geometrically defined.
